Ok, let’s pause our modesty for a moment and talk plainly about pooping. We’ve all felt backed up from time to time. Magnesium supplements are often used to help get things moving. Magnesium can soften stool and draw water into the intestines, which allows for stool motility through the digestive tract.
Women that are magnesium deficient may sometimes notice that the first few times they take a magnesium supplement things get moving fairly fast. Maybe even a little too quickly for some women. Magnesium itself is the same in all supplements, but straight elemental magnesium isn’t found in supplements. Magnesium needs to be bound to something else for it to be absorbed properly in the digestive tract. There are lots of things magnesium can be bound to – some good, some not so good. Carbon (as Magnesium Carbonate) is a popular binding agent, but it’s considered a poor, cheap form of the supplement with low absorbability. Other binding agents like Glycine (as Magnesium Glycinate) may be absorbable, but frankly tastes like rotten fish and wouldn’t be enjoyable in a drink mix.

Ashwagandha is an adaptogen with some amazing benefits. First, let’s get on the same page about what an adaptogen actually is – adaptogens are in a class by themselves for herbal extracts. They have an amazing property of balancing and supporting multiple bodily systems (for example, the Nervous or Hormonal Systems). Whether your body is high or low in a given area an adaptogen can help restore homeostasis.
Although adaptogens work on multiple systems in the body, they are most famous for helping control stress. There are two common stages of stress that women face today. L-Theanine is a naturally occurring amino acid that was discovered in green tea. When drinking green tea people noticed that it didn’t cause the same jitters from caffeine as coffee and figured out that L-Theanine was the reason. L-Theanine counters the overstimulating effects of caffeine for a more smooth feeling of energy.
L-Theanine can be used alone as a supplement and has been found to have some pretty amazing benefits. Most notably, L-Theanine can help you feel “wakeful mental relaxation”. That almost sounds like an oxymoron, but basically L-Theanine allows you to feel mentally calm and alert without the “static” of frazzled thoughts in your head.
In herbalism, there are many different strengths of calming extracts. Some are powerful and act as a sedative, while others are mild yet effective. This product works pretty well for me -- I can definitely feel the effects at a low level. I mix it with juice and the taste is ok. Will buy again.

I used to use the 1500 mg Balance CBD oil and was very sad when I went to reorder and saw that it was no longer available. I saw a review for this product that said it was a good substitute, so I decided to give it a try. I really wanted to like this, but I just absolutely do not. It tastes like you are chewing on a multivitamin and has a grainy texture. It does not dissolve in your drink, which is probably why they recommend the blender bottle (you have to shake it up between every sip). I choked down a serving every night for 10 days to see if I noticed any positive benefits. I did not notice any change in my mood or anxiety after using this product. I will not be reordering!
